Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Zenius (“we”, “us”) is a language-learning app available at www.zenius-learn.com, a project of AedisLabs. For any privacy question or request, contact us at aedislabs@gmail.com.

2. Data we collect

• Account data — email address, a securely hashed password, and the name or nickname you choose.
• Learning profile — the languages you study, your level, daily pace, chosen topics, the words saved in your Word Garden and your game results.
• Content you create — your conversations with the AI tutors and your messages with friends on Zenius. We store them so you can find them again and so the app can build your personal vocabulary.
• Push subscription — only if you enable notifications, we store the technical subscription needed to deliver them. You can disable it at any time.
• Technical logs — standard, short-lived server logs (e.g. IP address, request time) used for security and troubleshooting.

We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics, we do not profile you for ads, and we never sell your data.

3. AI processing

Zenius tutors are powered by Google’s Gemini models. When you chat, the text of the conversation (and related context such as your level and topic) is sent to the Google Gemini API to generate replies, corrections, translations and vocabulary explanations. This content is processed by Google as a data processor under their API terms; we do not use your conversations to train AI models.

Voice features use your browser’s built-in speech recognition (Web Speech API): audio is handled by your browser/device vendor and we never receive or store your voice recordings.

4. Why we process your data (legal bases)

• To provide the service (contract): account, learning profile, conversations, friend messages.
• With your consent: push notifications.
• Legitimate interest: security, abuse prevention and service reliability.

5. Where your data lives and who processes it

We rely on a small number of processors, strictly to run the service:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
• Google (Gemini API) — AI processing of tutor conversations.
• Vercel — web hosting and content delivery.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can request the deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by writing to aedislabs@gmail.com; we will complete the deletion within 30 days.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws you can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to or restrict certain processing, and lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. To exercise any right, email us — we answer within 30 days.

8. Children

Zenius is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes

If we change this policy we will update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
